The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)<\/a> says it will on Friday, arraign the former Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said this in a statement on Thursday, in Abuja<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Uwujaren said the former AGF and the three others would be arraigned before Justice Adeyemi Ajayi of an FCT High Court.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He said the three others to be docked alongside the AGF over N109 billion fraud were Godfrey Akindele, Mohammed Usman and Gezawa Commodity Market and Exchange Limited.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to him, the suspects will be arraigned on a 14 count charge of stealing and criminal breach of trust to the tune of N109, 485,572,691.9.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the former AGF was arrested on May 16, by the\u00a0EFCC over alleged diversion and laundering of N109 billion.<\/p>\n

The EFCC said verified intelligence reports showed that Idris raked off the funds through bogus consultancies and other illegal activities using proxies, family members and close associates.<\/p>\n

The commission said the funds were laundered through real estate investments in Kano and Abuja.<\/p>\n

It said Idris was arrested after he failed to honour invitations by the commission to respond to issues connected to the alleged fraudulent acts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
