{"id":36121,"date":"2022-07-23T21:40:17","date_gmt":"2022-07-23T21:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=36121"},"modified":"2022-07-23T21:40:17","modified_gmt":"2022-07-23T21:40:17","slug":"well-use-spiritual-powers-to-provide-security-for-nigerians-traditionalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/07\/23\/well-use-spiritual-powers-to-provide-security-for-nigerians-traditionalists\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019ll use spiritual powers to provide security for Nigerians \u2013 Traditionalists"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\"><\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>A traditionalist, the Obalesu Obatala Agbaye, Olaolu Dada, has said that a pan-Yoruba group, <em>Irorun Ile Kaaro-oo-jiire<\/em>, will explore its spiritual powers to provide adequate security for the lives and properties of Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>Dada stated this at a news conference at Obatala temple in Igbotapa area of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/12\/scid-commences-investigation-into-ajibolas-death-at-oau-ile-ife\/\">Ile-Ife<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed concern over what he called rising insecurity in the country, adding that no day could pass without reports of kidnapping, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/07\/23\/minister-donates-relief-materials-to-victims-of-banditry-in-zamfara\/\">banditry<\/a>, armed robbery, and other forms of insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnough is enough. It is high time we moved to address this security challenge bedeviling our country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me assure you that the powers used by our forefathers still remain with us and we are ready to use them to deliver ourselves and our people in Nigeria,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Dada said that the group would collaborate with other security agencies to tackle the lingering security challenge in the country.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, stated that the group had nothing to do with politics or Yoruba nation agitation, but was determined to rise up and fight criminality in the country \u2018without the use of gun and cutlasses\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking, the group\u2019s Traditional Secretary, Dotun Hassan, said that \u201cIrorun Ile Kaaro-oo-jiire\u201d stood for unity, peace, and tranquility of Christians, Muslims, and traditionalists.<\/p>\n<p>Hassan, a legal practitioner, said that the group would promote the culture and tradition of the Yoruba and ensure the stability of the nation\u2019s democracy.<\/p>\n<p>He called for the support of the Federal Government, South-West governors, royal fathers, philanthropists, traditionalists, and other stakeholders for the group to achieve its objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s Director of Protocol, Dr. Adebayo Olusegun, also said that the organization would use spiritual powers to secure the lives and property of the people of Yoruba land and the entire country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will use the spiritual powers to stop crime in Nigeria because we cannot continue to condone criminality anymore,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Others, who spoke at the occasion, included the group\u2019s Director, Research and Documentary, Dr. Segun Awogbemi, and the Deputy Press Secretary, Adunni Lawal.<\/p>\n<p>They expressed the group\u2019s commitment to rescuing the country from the pangs of insecurity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A traditionalist, the Obalesu Obatala Agbaye, Olaolu Dada, has said that a pan-Yoruba group, Irorun Ile Kaaro-oo-jiire, will explore its spiritual powers to provide adequate security for the lives and properties of Nigerians.
