{"id":38737,"date":"2022-08-11T16:38:04","date_gmt":"2022-08-11T16:38:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=38737"},"modified":"2022-08-11T16:38:04","modified_gmt":"2022-08-11T16:38:04","slug":"artisan-docked-for-alleged-breach-of-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/08\/11\/artisan-docked-for-alleged-breach-of-trust\/","title":{"rendered":"Artisan docked for alleged breach of trust"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"yiv9399103096ymail_android_signature\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/08\/11\/6-police-officers-killed-in-sierra-leone-protests\/\">police<\/a> on Thursday arraigned an artisan, Adebayo Moshood, in an Upper Area Court Gwagwalada, FCT, for alleged criminal breach of trust.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660212605241\">The Prosecution Counsel, Abdullahi Tanko, said that the complainant, Funmilayo Adedoyin, who lives in Dutse Abuja, reported the matter at the police station on Aug. 8.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660213531276\">Tanko said that the complainant, some time in March, entrusted N10,000 to the defendant to pay on her behalf at the police station over a case he stood as surety.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660213769096\">He said that the defendant, who lives in Dagiri, Gwagwalada, FCT, did not pay the money but converted it to his personal use.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660213837277\">The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of section 312 and 320 of the Penal Code.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660213908172\">The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660214753633\">\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660214729094\">The Judge, Sani Umar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one reliable surety in like sum.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Umar said that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and provide photocopy of valid means of identification.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He said that the address of the surety should be verified by the court staff and must provide two recent passport photographs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv9399103096yMail_cursorElementTracker_1660214758127\">The judge added that in default, the defendant should be remanded in a Correctional Centre while adjourning the case until Oct. 12 for hearing.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The police on Thursday arraigned an artisan, Adebayo Moshood, in an Upper Area Court Gwagwalada, FCT, for alleged criminal breach of trust.
