{"id":39533,"date":"2022-08-17T15:27:01","date_gmt":"2022-08-17T15:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=39533"},"modified":"2022-08-17T15:27:01","modified_gmt":"2022-08-17T15:27:01","slug":"i-refuse-my-husband-sex-divorce-seeking-woman-tells-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/08\/17\/i-refuse-my-husband-sex-divorce-seeking-woman-tells-court\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I refuse my husband sex&#8221; &#8211; Divorce seeking woman tells court"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">A divorce seeking wife, Mrs Tawa Olayiwola, on Wednesday, told a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/07\/22\/court-dissolves-marriage-over-domestic-violence\/\"><strong>Mapo Grade \u2018A\u2019 Customary Court in Ibadan,<\/strong> <\/a>that she had denied her husband sex because he allegedly steals from her.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Tawa, a mother of three, had filed the suit praying the court to dissolve her marriage of 19 years to Ganiu, describing her circumstance as \u201cliving in anguish\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy lord, I sometimes refuse to allow Olayiwola have sex with me because he doesn\u2019t make me happy whenever he steals my personal belongings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnytime I reject his sexual advances, he brands me a prostitute or being unfaithful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has stolen my property and money many times before and he hasn\u2019t stopped doing so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIn spite of the fact that Olayiwola doesn\u2019t care about the living condition of the children and I, I managed to buy a television set, but he stole it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, I got him arrested when he stole my mobile phone and money, but he denied the theft,\u201d the estranged wife said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the petitioner, Ganiu has demonstrated no sign of responsibility to either their three children or her.<\/p>\n<p>She claimed that her husband only provides her N1,000 once in six months as feeding allowance, stressing that he had failed in his parental responsibility to his children, which had negatively impacted on their first child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis actions have impacted negatively on our first child because the child has now become a nuisance in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorse still, Olayiwola beats me at the slightest provocation and even destroys the property of anyone who gives me shelter from his brutality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been paying our house rent, please help me recover my money,\u201d Tawa appealed to the court.<\/p>\n<p>Ganiu, who did not oppose the application for divorce, however, accused his wife of notoriety for keeping late nights.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the court to grant Tawa\u2019s divorce request, but, however, pleaded with the court to grant to him the custody of their first child.<\/p>\n<p>The court\u2019s President, Mrs S.M.
