On Sunday night, a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanker exploded at a filling station on the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway in Anambra, igniting vehicles and buildings.<\/p>\n

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the LPG tanker that exploded around 7.30 p.m. spread fire to two other filling stations and a mechanic workshop with vehicles in the area.<\/p>\n

Mr Martin Agbili, Director of the Anambra State Fire Service, told NAN that the explosion caused a panic in the surrounding area due to the fire caused by the incident.<\/p>\n

“The State Fire Service responded quickly to a distress call made by residents of the area and workers at the fuel stations<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

“Four fire trucks and fire fighters were dispatched to the scene to fight the fire,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident and urged the public to remain calm and patient.<\/p>\n

“Men from the Fire Service and the FRSC Rescue Team were on the ground working to put out the fire.”<\/p>\n
