Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ukata, a Catholic priest<\/a><\/strong> with Owerri Diocese, Imo, has admonished Christian faithfuls to desist from acts capable of causing abuse to the holy Eucharist.<\/p>\n

Ukata made the call on Friday in Lafia at the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress of the Lafia Catholic Diocese.<\/p>\n

He explained that a lot of Catholics engaged in activities such as use of phones, reading newspaper and doing other activities during mass, and called for change of attitudes.<\/p>\n

According to him, if one is not behaving well and one did not behave appropriately during Eucharist, he or she is abusing Eucharist which is not good.<\/p>\n

\u201cEucharist is very important, it is a communion between man and God. Eucharist is Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we are celebrating mass, we are thanking God and God blesses us as there is a unity between God and man.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we are celebrating Eucharist, we should be humble and behave well in order to get God\u2019s favours and blessings,\u201d the cleric admonished.<\/p>\n

Ukata described Eucharist as the symbol of unity and love for all Christians<\/a>, hence the need for Christians to embrace it at all times.<\/p>\n

He urged the faithful to extend hands of friendship to the needy and the less privileged in the society.<\/p>\n

The Man of God also enjoined Christians to always do the right things in order to inherit the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n

Reports have it that the programme brought together priests, religious and other lay faithfuls across the Catholic Diocese of Lafia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
