The Development Education Centre (DEC), a Non-Governmental Organisation, has commended Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi<\/strong><\/a> for his administration\u2019s women empowerment initiative.<\/p>\n

The Executive Director of the NGO, Dr Cecilia Asogwa, made the commendation on Monday, when she led a delegation of the group on a thank you visit to the governor.<\/p>\n

Asogwa thanked Ugwuanyi for identifying with the group\u2019s main objective of advocating for women\u2019s right to education and socio-economic empowerment.<\/p>\n

She said that they were deeply grateful to the governor for his support to the organisation since its inception in 1988.<\/p>\n

She further said that through effective collaboration with Ugwuanyi\u2019s administration, the road to the DEC Headquarters in Enugu had been built.<\/p>\n

The DEC boss further applauded the governor for making Enugu one of the most peaceful and safest states in the country.<\/p>\n

According to her, this has attracted both indigenes and non-indigenes to make Enugu their base and home.<\/p>\n

She also commended the governor for his remarkable achievements in the area of infrastructure development, healthcare services and provision of educational facilities<\/strong><\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n

In a remark, the Patron of DEC, Mrs Beatrice Asogwa, also thanked Ugwuanyi for transforming the university town of Nsukka with massive durable road network.<\/p>\n

She described the reconstruction of the Opi-Nsukka Road, hitherto ravaged by flood, to a dual carriageway, as a testimony to the governor\u2019s good works in the state.<\/p>\n

In their separate goodwill messages, representatives of the group from Imo, Abia, Kogi and Benue states, thanked Ugwuanyi for his immense support to DEC toward actualising its objectives in empowering women.<\/p>\n
