Kwara State Government<\/strong><\/a> has renamed the state-owned College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin, to the College of Arabic, Islamic, Legal and Management Studies (CAILMS).<\/p>\n<\/header>\n

\n

This is contained in a statement issued by AbdulLateef Yahaya, the Deputy Registrar (Information), of the college on Wednesday in Ilorin.<\/p>\n

Yahaya said that the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Afeez \u00a0Alabi, disclosed this during a familiarisation visit to the college.<\/p>\n

He said that the change of name was for the need to expand the scope of the institution courses and enhance the objective for the benefits of the entire people of the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Commissioner reiterated the commitment of government to improve the general quality of education in the state and the status of CAILMS to a degree awarding institution.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe therefore promised to present the request for the sum of N26 million required for the completion of the accreditation of degree courses of the college without further delay.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr Alabi assured that government will assist in the reconstruction of road network and other infrastructural development in the college,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Chairman, Governing Council of the institution, Prof. Badmas Yusuf, appealed to Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq<\/strong><\/a> to assist the college with physical structures and fund needed.<\/p>\n

Yusuf said that the money would be used for the completion of the college accreditation requirements for the six degree programmes in affiliation with the University of Ilorin.<\/p>\n

He explained further that the college, which was established in 1992 by the state government, aimed at providing solutions to problems of middle level manpower and create more windows to acquisition of tertiary education.<\/p>\n

According to him, particularly for those who desire to study Arabic, Islamic Legal System, and other social science courses as part of efforts to meet the aspiration of the indigenes.<\/p>\n

The Chairman urged the state government to give priority attention to the construction of intra-road network and more infrastructural development to enable the college achieve more success.<\/p>\n

He thanked the commissioner for the visit, hoping that it will result to more positive change in the history of the college.<\/p>\n

The College Provost, Dr Olokoba Ayinla, thanked the present administration for not neglecting the institution since its assumption of office in 2019 and appealed for more developmental projects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
