{"id":41619,"date":"2022-09-01T16:02:05","date_gmt":"2022-09-01T16:02:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=41619"},"modified":"2022-09-01T16:02:05","modified_gmt":"2022-09-01T16:02:05","slug":"hyppadec-trains-5000-women-youths-in-niger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/09\/01\/hyppadec-trains-5000-women-youths-in-niger\/","title":{"rendered":"HYPPADEC trains 5,000 women, youths in Niger"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/16\/hyppadec-committed-to-addressing-the-needs-of-power-producing-communities-yelwa\/\"><strong>Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC),<\/strong> <\/a>has commenced \u2018Youths Transformation Programme (YTP)\u2019, training for over 5,000 unemployed youths and women.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Managing Director of the commission, Alhaji Abubakar\u00a0 Yelwa, inaugurated the training pon Thursday in Minna.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yelwa said that it was the desire of the commission to improve the living standard of teeming youths across the 6 HYPPADEC states through job creation.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said that the participants were drawn from Niger, Kogi, Kebbi, Benue, Plateau and Kwara states.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yelwa said that the commission was partnering with the NDE and Minna Institute of Technology and Innovation MITI.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This is in line with the federal government policy to take off the streets those numbers of youths as a life-changing skills acquisition exercise.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He maintained that the beneficiaries cut across the six states, with Niger State having about 1,400 participants.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to him, they are entitled to a monthly stipend of N15,000 for graduates and N10,000 for non graduates.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Similarly, starter packs await them after the training for three and six months, respectively.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Earlier, the Rector of MITI, Dr Nana Ibrahim, who applauded the commission for the foresight, assured to live up to the expectations.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ibrahim said that only those who performed creditably with good character would be awarded with certificates.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201d You must be seen to demonstrate high level of moral conduct during the training exercise,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Niger Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Alhaji Mamman Musa, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Jonathan Wasa, commended the efforts of the commission for creating job opportunities for the youths.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He urged the participants to leverage on the opportunity seriously so as to be self-reliant and contribute towards nation building.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Abdullahi Salihu of \u2018People With Disability\u2019 and Zainab Abubakar, appreciated the gesture of the commission.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">They promised to justify the confidence reposed in them by making use of the opportunity maximally.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), has commenced \u2018Youths Transformation Programme (YTP)\u2019, training for over 5,000 unemployed youths and women.
