{"id":44155,"date":"2022-10-15T19:11:19","date_gmt":"2022-10-15T19:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=44155"},"modified":"2022-10-15T19:11:19","modified_gmt":"2022-10-15T19:11:19","slug":"nhia-adopts-renewable-energy-to-boost-health-insurance-ecosystem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/10\/15\/nhia-adopts-renewable-energy-to-boost-health-insurance-ecosystem\/","title":{"rendered":"NHIA\u00a0 adopts renewable energy\u00a0 to boost health insurance ecosystem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/09\/03\/associations-enroll-200-fct-residents-into-health-insurance-scheme\/\">National Health Insurance Authority<\/a><\/strong> (NHIA) has commissioned a 57.6kw solar power infrastructure in order to address the challenges of energy supply.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Mohammed Sambo, Director General of NHIA said this in a statement signed by Mr Emmanuel Ononokpono, authority\u2019s Head of Press in Abuja on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Sambo highlighted the significance of uninterrupted electricity supply in the rapidly expanding health insurance ecosystem, noting that meeting the needs of insured Nigerians could not be achieved without reliable power supply.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the cost of providing electricity through diesel-powered plants was becoming intolerably high, adding that renewable and clean energy had become globally embraced standard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d We are determined to harness the potentials of renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe project will be expanded beyond the present scope, and provision has been made for similar installations in the ongoing various office accommodation <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/01\/23\/yahaya-bello-receives-praise-from-nuj-over-infrastructural-development-in-lokoja\/\">infrastructural<\/a> <\/strong>embarked upon by the Authority,\u201d Sambo said.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Mr Joseph Amakurugbonwo,\u00a0 Acting General Manager, Information Communication and Technology (ICT) of the authority, listed the peculiarities of the project to include renewable power generation and uninterrupted electricity supply.<\/p>\n<p>Amakurugbonwo said other peculiarities are green energy with zero noise and air pollution, zero power surges or fluctuations that could damage sensitive office equipment and control over electricity with resultant significant reduction in overhead costs.<\/p>\n<p>He said that excess power could be supplied to neighbouring communities and the National Grid as might be allowed by relevant legislations.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the authority has developed high technology digital infrastructure nationwide as part of efforts to automate its services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has commissioned a 57.6kw solar power infrastructure in order to address the challenges of energy supply.
