{"id":44980,"date":"2022-10-20T15:50:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-20T15:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=44980"},"modified":"2022-10-20T15:50:10","modified_gmt":"2022-10-20T15:50:10","slug":"dismissed-staff-member-docked-for-threatening-ex-employer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/10\/20\/dismissed-staff-member-docked-for-threatening-ex-employer\/","title":{"rendered":"Dismissed staff member docked for threatening ex-employer\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">A dismissed member of staff of a company, Dorcas Olanipekun, was on Thursday docked in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/10\/20\/court-remands-man-25-for-allegedly-possesing-locally-made-pistol\/\"><strong>Upper Area Court<\/strong><\/a>, Karu, Abuja for allegedly threatening her former employer\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The police charged Olanipekun who lives in Danjuma Estate, Dutse, Abuja, with criminal breach of trust, criminal intimidation and theft.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Edwin Ochayi, told the court that sometime in May, the defendant\u00a0 a staff of Skystep group of Companies, was sacked by her boss due to her low performance.<\/p>\n<p>Ochayi said after the defendant was sacked she was asked to return all company\u2019s property in her possession but she refused.<\/p>\n<p>However, she denied the company access to their properties for several months.<\/p>\n<p>Ochayi said that the defendant went ahead to threaten the life of the complainant who is the operations manager of the company.<\/p>\n<p>The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 312, 397 and 288 of the Penal Code.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n<p>The Judge, Mr Hassan Mohammed, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two reasonable sureties who must live within court jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed ordered that the surety address must be verified by the court officer and the police officer and National I.D card must be kept at the court.<\/p>\n<p>He also ordered the defendant to write an undertaking to maintain peace.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed, therefore, adjourned the case until Oct. 31 for further hearing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A dismissed member of staff of a company, Dorcas Olanipekun, was on Thursday docked in an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja for allegedly threatening her former employer\u2019s life.
