A two-day International Students Recruitment Fair organised by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) has just been concluded in Lagos.<\/p>\n

Some students, seeking admission into various universities told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that studying in Ghana is a way of developing the African continent.<\/p>\n

The representatives of no fewer than 16 accredited universities<\/a> from Ghana were at the fair, while 383 students from 15 public and private schools across Lagos were present at the fair.<\/p>\n

A student of Kings College, Lagos, Adenaya Israel, lauded GEPA for the fair.<\/p>\n

He explained\u00a0 that this was an opportunity to acquire quality education and increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Africa.<\/p>\n

Israel said universities such as WISCONSIN International University College, Ghana; Academic City University, Central University; Kumasi Technical University and University of Ghana have great offers like the universities in U.S.<\/p>\n

This fair is coming in handy for us in SS2 and SS3; it has offered us opportunity of quality education in Ghana, and saves us stress or high expenses of travelling to America to acquire same qualifications.<\/p>\n

We can make best use of schooling in Ghana to increase the GDP of West Africa and\u00a0 Africa rather than adding to countries that are far above us in development,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A student of Greenville Schools, Ikeja, Kobi Oguodimma, said he wants to study software engineering, he described the array of offers of the universities programmes as a balance of resources and price.<\/p>\n

According to Oguodimma, the head boy of Greenville Schools, the resources and programmes in Webster University, Ghana, were appealing, hence his considering having his university degree in Ghana.<\/p>\n

This recruitment fair has changed my mindset. I wasn\u2019t considering schooling in Ghana before now but I have changed my mind, especially with their programmes, resources and fees.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Another participant at the fair, Donnatella Iyauji, told NAN that the fair provided students a platform where they have varieties of institutions to choose from for their university degree.<\/p>\n

According to Iyauji, he aspires to study medicine, he also described the GEPA organised International Students Recruitment fair as informative, adding that she was being persuaded to study in Ghana but subject to approval from parents.<\/p>\n

Mr Yaw Dankwa, who is the International Recruitment Officer of University of Ghana, assured prospective students and parents that the institutions were accredited and\u00a0 will meet the learning needs of prospective students.<\/p>\n

However, Dankwa noted that the students, could return to Nigeria to have their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after graduating from universities in Ghana.<\/p>\n

On the sideline, Mr Banda Abdullah, Deputy Director of GEPA, declared that he was always at home whenever in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

There is a seamless relationship between Nigeria and Ghana.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Abdullah also promised the prospective students, the best hospitality and standard education.<\/p>\n
