He went on to say that the PDP was the only credible alternative to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and that it could not afford to fail Nigerians.<\/p>\n
“We must maintain hope. We’ll be fine. As Obama would say, “Yes, we can.”<\/p>\n
“The revitalized PDP will be true to our national anthem’s words, ‘To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.'”<\/p>\n
Tambuwal went on to say that the PDP was poised to write a new chapter in Nigeria’s history.<\/p>\n
According to him, the PDP has learned its lesson and is now poised to take power in 2023, providing hope for Nigeria.<\/p>\n
“A rickety vehicle will not transport Nigeria to its destination as a nation with great potential for greatness and progress.”<\/p>\n
“The PDP is now a well-oiled, serviced vehicle that will deliver the Nigeria of our dreams.”<\/p>\n
“It is, indeed, time to Rescue and Rebuild Nigeria,” Tambuwal declared.<\/p>\n
The governor, who described Nigeria’s problems as man-made, stated that resolving them would necessitate a focused, determined, knowledgeable, and patriotic organization of like minds to build the critical mass required for a great leap forward.<\/p>\n
“Yes, it necessitates vision and disciplined leadership.”<\/p>\n
He cited unemployment, insecurity, low education, inflation, a weak naira, corruption, nepotism, ethnic and religious bigotry as some of the issues confronting the country.<\/p>\n
Prof. Jerry Gana, former Minister of Information, advised PDP leaders to work together as a team in his presentation titled “An Overview of the PDP.”<\/p>\n
Gana also urged PDP leaders to be committed to good governance, to respect one another, and to demonstrate a willingness to serve the people.<\/p>\n
“Translating visions into reality is a difficult process; leaders must have a clear sense of priorities.”<\/p>\n
“In fact, effective leadership has a lot to do with the wisdom of deciding on a set of priorities.” You can’t do it all at once.<\/p>\n
“As a result, you must seek wisdom to determine the priority order.” “Wisdom is thus a valuable asset for good leaders,” Gana said.<\/p>\n
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki were among those in attendance.<\/p>\n
Former Cross River governor Liyel Imoke and Chairman of the PDP Disciplinary Committee, Chief Tom Ikimi, were also present.<\/p>\n
