Nigerian Medical Association (NMA)<\/a> physicians week.<\/p>\nHe specifically called on the Muslim medical officers to uphold the tenet of Allah whom he said \u201cis a holy man with purification of character all through his reign\u201d.<\/p>\n
Abdullahi told the Muslim medical officers that the practice of their profession should be different from others as the Muslim religion only accepted holiness and sacrifice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe practicing of your profession must be different from others as Muslim medical practitioners; this is because you believe in Allah, you are expecting reward from Allah, you are expected to be sincere.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou must follow the footsteps of Allah, purify your intention especially on your duty, let your work be in conformity with Allah.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou will get your reward on this earth if you are not sincere with your work, but if you are sincere with it, you will get on this earth and also get thereafter at the world beyond.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou were a Muslim first before you became a medical practitioner, put your religion forward and with this, you will always have the feeling of Allah in your work,\u2019\u2019 he stressed.<\/p>\n
Imam also advised the practitioners to always put in their best in the revival of their patients, and to humble themselves and allow Allah to praise and uplift them.<\/p>\n
According to him, nothing is hidden before Allah, whether they do it right or not.<\/p>\n
He also called on them to continue to engage themselves in knowledge searching through the reading of books, and engage with their colleagues in knowledge sharing.<\/p>\n
According to Abdullahi, you must be humble no matter your level, and you must not look down one any other of your colleagues.<\/p>\n
Also, Mr Khidir Alhassan, one of the Imams, NHA, called on medical practitioners to remove rivalry within the profession, adding that all sections of the profession must take themselves as one.<\/p>\n
He also called on them to respect the superiority of others, especially with their senior colleagues, as leadership in the profession was part of doctrine of Allah.<\/p>\n
\u201cBe humble with one another, there is no remuneration that can commensurate with the service you are offering, you must be humble as part of the process of life and for life to continue.<\/p>\n
\u201cAllah give more prominence to life, unity is important in the profession, we must be united if we want success, disharmony cannot bring any meaningful result within the medical profession,\u2019\u2019 Alhassan said.<\/p>\n
In his goodwill message, Dr Charles Ugwuanyi, Chairman, NMA-FCT, called on the medical practitioners to ensure efficient clinical services in the face of a new democratic dispensation.<\/p>\n
Represented by Dr Abdullahi Jatau of the Federal Ministry of Health, Ugwuanyi said that the medical community found it worthy to observed prayers for the medical profession and that was why the National Hospital Mosque was chosen for the prayer<\/p>\n
