{"id":46964,"date":"2022-10-30T07:33:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-30T07:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=46964"},"modified":"2022-10-30T07:33:20","modified_gmt":"2022-10-30T07:33:20","slug":"emir-of-kano-speaks-on-recreation-stress-management-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/10\/30\/emir-of-kano-speaks-on-recreation-stress-management-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Emir of Kano speaks on recreation, stress management in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, the Emir of Kano, has stressed the need for people to engage in recreation and sporting activities to manage stress.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/02\/ramadan-emir-of-kano-urges-muslims-to-pray-for-nigeria-assist-the-needy\/\">emir of Kano<\/a> made the call while delivering a goodwill message on Saturday, as the Royal Father of the day at the 56th anniversary of Ikeja Club Lagos, Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the importance of recreation hubs and centres like the Ikeja Club, noting that they could never be over emphasised in the society.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Body and mind need to relax and unwind from time to time, especially as we age. Most people who don\u2019t understand the need to shed their daily stresses end up with dire consequences.<\/p>\n<p>We therefore, call and encourage people to avail themselves with opportunities to remain healthy and ward off life threatening diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and others, according to the emir.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The emir, furthermore, commended the resilience of the club management for nurturing the club from inception in 1966 to date, adding that the Ikeja Club had become one of the best social and recreational institutions in the country.<\/p>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">He also expressed happiness that the event accorded him the opportunity to meet ace footballer Segun Odegbami and vetaran music maestro King Sunny Ade.<\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), one of the highlights of the events was the presentation of the club\u2019s Presidential Awards to six personalities from Kano State.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p>Also, it was gathered that amongst the six recipients of the award from Kano were renowned businessmen, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Abdussamad Rabiu.<\/p>\n<p>Bayero commended the club for the honour and congratulated the award recipients.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">Some of the personalities that graced the occasion include; Oba AbdulKabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota and Dr. Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, the Erelu of Lagos.<\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">The emir was accompanied by the Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar-Gida Kano, Alhaji Ahmad Ado-Bayero; Malam Magaji Galadima, the Kachallan Kano; Prince Isah Bayero as well as Alhaji Tajuddeen Dantata.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, the Emir of Kano, has stressed the need for people to engage in recreation and sporting activities to manage stress.
