The governor of Gombe State<\/a><\/strong>, Inuwa Yahaya, on Thursday presented a budget proposal of N173.69 billion for 2023 to the state House of Assembly.<\/p>\n

Our correspondent reports that the proposal is tagged; \u201cBudget of Further Consolidation\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

While presenting the budget, Yahaya said it was in line with his administration\u2019s desire to continue offering service to the people of Gombe beyond 2023<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to him, to continue providing for the development needs of the people of Gombe State in 2023, we proposed a budget of N173,697, 242 billion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is made up of N71.85 billion for recurrent expenditure, which\u00a0 \u00a0represents 41.4 per cent, and N101.84 billion for capital expenditure, representing 58.6 per cent of the total budgeted sum.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yahaya said that the state government<\/a><\/strong> in 2023 plans to generate the sum of N100.61 billion as recurrent revenue, and the sum of N74.70 billion as capital receipts.<\/p>\n

On the performance of the 2022 budget, Yahaya said the overall budget performance stood at N92.76 billion as at Sept. 30, representing 60 per cent of the total budget.<\/p>\n

Responding, the speaker of the house, Abubakar Luggerewo said the house would ensure \u201cdiligent and expeditious legislative scrutiny\u201d and passage of the budget to enable the state government continue its development policies and programmes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
