The National Youth Service Corps<\/a> <\/strong>(NYSC) has advised prospective corps members deployed to Ekiti for the one year mandatory service to respect the traditions and customs of their host communities.<\/p>\n

The Coordinator of the NYSC in the state, Mrs Mary Chikezie, gave the advice, on Monday at the Permanent NYSC Orientation Camp in Emure-Ekiti, ahead of the inauguration of the 2022 Batch C corps members posted to the state.<\/p>\n

Chikezie harped on the need for the youths to be obedient to customs, traditions, rules and laws entrenched in the society.<\/p>\n

According to her, there are laid down laws and restrictions everywhere and being members of the NYSC scheme does not confer on you exceptional privileges.<\/p>\n

The coordinator said that in view of these, prospective corps<\/a><\/strong> members must act in accordance to these laws, particularly the NYSC bye-laws.<\/p>\n

On the use of social\u00a0media, she enjoined corps members to maintain high level of discipline and avoid posting things that could embarrass individual corps members and the scheme as a corporate body.<\/p>\n

Chikezie also urged the corps members to embrace peace, shun religious intolerance and be security conscious at all times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
