{"id":5002,"date":"2021-12-17T08:15:28","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T08:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=5002"},"modified":"2021-12-17T08:15:28","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T08:15:28","slug":"dmo-unlocks-investment-opportunity-through-4th-sovereign-sukuk-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/17\/dmo-unlocks-investment-opportunity-through-4th-sovereign-sukuk-offer\/","title":{"rendered":"DMO unlocks investment opportunity through 4th Sovereign Sukuk offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/16\/dmo-offers-n250bn-sukuk-for-subscription-as-debt-rises-to-92-6bn\/\">Debt Management Office (DMO)<\/a> has called on Nigerian investors to partner with the Federal Government towards the development of road infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>This call was made by DMO via its verified website, as it opened offer for a new Sovereign Sukuk of up to N250 billion on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>It stated that the Federal Government had so far realised the sum of N362.57 billion from Sukuk since it was first introduced in 2017, which has been deployed to roads construction\u00a0 across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Sovereign Sukuk will be the fourth to\u00a0 be issued since its first Sukuk issuance in September 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is for a tenure of 10\u00a0 years at a Rental Income of 12.80 per cent per annum which will be paid half-yearly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe proceeds of the\u00a0 Sukuk will be used to finance critical road projects across Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, through the issuance of Sovereign\u00a0 Sukuk in 2017, 2018 and 2020, the DMO has raised a total of sum of N362.57 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe monies have been deployed to the\u00a0rehabilitation and construction of critical economic road projects across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impact of the Sovereign Sukuk on road infrastructure in terms of job creation, travel time, safety and movement of goods have made the Sukuk a beneficial financial instrument for financing economic growth and development,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n<p>Institutions, individuals, associations and cooperative societies are urged to invest in the\u00a0Sovereign Sukuk thereby supporting the DMO towards raising project-tied funds\u00a0and promoting financial\u00a0inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe offer closes Dec. 22,.
