Former Lagos State Governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari<\/a> on his 79th birthday.<\/p>\n

Tinubu<\/a> described the President as a great reformer and democrat in a statement signed by him on Friday in Lagos.<\/p>\n

Beyond his admiration and gratitude for the President’s achievements in office, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader said he was proud to call him a friend and a brother.<\/p>\n

“Your legacy as a great reformer and democrat will carry on for generations.”<\/p>\n

“You are a man of exceptional intellect and character,” he said.<\/p>\n

Tinubu stated that despite the current challenges, the president has continued to steer the ship of Nigeria through the most treacherous waters.<\/p>\n

“Your presidency has coincided with some of the most difficult and challenging times this country, and indeed, the entire global community, has experienced.”<\/p>\n

“Economic crises, global pandemics, insecurity, and criminality have all played a role in making the last few years difficult for our great country’s people.”<\/p>\n

“Yet, despite everything, you continue to steer the ship of Nigeria through the most turbulent of waters, calmly and with uncommon dignity.”<\/p>\n

“As a result, I’d like to express my gratitude for the unseen and underappreciated work you’ve done and continue to do to guide Nigeria ever closer to its manifest destiny,” he said.<\/p>\n

The former governor of Lagos stated that the President’s administration had accomplished many things for which the people could be proud through careful leadership and measured governance of the country.<\/p>\n

He claimed that previously abandoned infrastructure projects had been completed across the country under President Buhari’s watch.<\/p>\n

“Unheralded reforms and measures implemented by your administration are also bringing greater transparency and accountability to governance,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I wish you a very happy birthday, as well as many more years of good health and renewed strength.”<\/p>\n
