Justice Darius Khobo of a Kaduna High Court, on Monday sentenced an unemployed man, David Jude, to one-year imprisonment for N3m contract scam.<\/p>\n

Jude had pleaded guilty to cheating filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).<\/a><\/p>\n

The Judge, however, gave the convict an option of N300,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Khobo further ordered the convict to pay N3m restitution to the victim, Frank Victor.<\/p>\n

He held that if the convicts fails to pay Victor, he will serve one-year jail term.\u2019<\/p>\n

Earlier, the EFCC counsel, J. M. Musa, told the court that Jude was arrested following a petition filed by Nk Victor, accusing the convict of obtaining N3m from him under the pretext of executing a contract purportedly awarded to him by a Non-Governmental Organisation called \u2018Hope For All\u2019.<\/p>\n

The EFCC said the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 217 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.<\/p>\n
