{"id":6087,"date":"2021-12-21T09:36:29","date_gmt":"2021-12-21T09:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=6087"},"modified":"2021-12-21T09:36:29","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T09:36:29","slug":"applicants-of-c-of-o-under-home-owner-scheme-in-ogun-state-urged-to-exercise-patience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/21\/applicants-of-c-of-o-under-home-owner-scheme-in-ogun-state-urged-to-exercise-patience\/","title":{"rendered":"Applicants of C of O under home owner scheme in Ogun State urged to exercise patience"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/16\/ogun-subeb-proposes-n1-50bn-for-2022-budget\/\">Ogun State Government<\/a> has reassured applicants of land titled documents under the Home Owners Charter Scheme to exercise patience as the documents were still undergoing processing.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Director General, Bureau of Lands and Survey in the state, Mr Aina Salami gave the assurance while defending the Bureau\u2019s 2022 budget estimate before the members of the State House of Assembly in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Salami explained that more applications were currently being considered under the recently inaugurated Land Administration and Revenue Management System (OLARMS).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The director general explained that OLARMS was a digital platform created by the present administration to ease the administrative bottlenecks being encountered by applicants in the process of registering property and obtaining government permits.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said that the government had established a single registry for all land-related transactions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to Salami, government is a continuum and over 3,000 title documents had so far been issued to property owners under the Home Owner\u2019s Scheme while the release of another batch of over 2,000 was underway.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He promised that the OLARMS platform was designed with user interface to effectively restructure registration, inspection, payment of assessment fees and seamless issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for all categories of structures.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Salami intimated the lawmakers that the bureau proposed a total expenditure of N955.4million consisting of N425.8million for capital projects, with the remaining N529.6million for recurrent expenditure.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The official said that the bureau planned to generate over N42.807billion in the 2022 fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said that the revenue would be sourced from issuance of Certificate of Occupancy\/ratification, plot allocation\/layout fees and rent on government land among others.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Responding, the lawmakers in their respective remarks tasked the bureau to ensure the immediate distribution of pending title documents under the home owner charter to applicants within record time.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Similarly, the State Commissioner for Housing, MrJagunmolu Omoniyi, presented a total budget of N3.28billion for the development and actualisation of housing need of the people in the state.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The commissioner said that N88.02million would cater for recurrent expenditure and N3.19 billion would go towards the various capital projects, while N3 billion was expected as revenue in 2022.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ogun State Government has reassured applicants of land titled documents under the Home Owners Charter Scheme to exercise patience as the documents were still undergoing processing.
