The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),<\/a> says it has deployed 5,000 personnel to beef up security in Kaduna during the Christmas and New Year.<\/p>\n

Dr Godwin Miebi, the NSCDC\u2019s Commandant in the state disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr Habeeb Badamasi, the corps Director of Information in Kaduna on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Miebi stated that the deployment was part of the corps culture of ensuring the security of lives of citizens and critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe command has approved the deployment of no fewer than 5,000 personnel to places of worship, markets, recreational centres, motor parks, restaurant and bars, and critical national assets among others.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Area Commanders are directed to revamp their security apparatus and take into consideration security within and around their domains.<\/p>\n

Miebi also directed that the \u201cOperation Yaki Component of the NSCDC\u2019\u2019, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, the Female Arms Squad, Rapid Response Squad, Anti-vandal Unit, to patrol those spots during the period.<\/p>\n

Commending the people of Kaduna State for their support in 2021, Miebi urged them to always volunteer useful information to fight crime and criminality.<\/p>\n

The commandant wished Christians in the state a happy Christmas and urged them to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

He urged everyone to continue to live in peace with others irrespective of their tribe, ethnic, religion and political leanings<\/p>\n
