Talented musician Seun Kuti sets the record straight about Nigerians who have been nominated for the Grammy Awards in his recent social media video.
The son of legendary Fela Kuti rubbished musicians who got their Grammy nods by featuring on songs of other musicians, especially international duets.
Seun said Femi Kuti (his brother), King Sunny Ade, Burna Boy and himself are the only Nigerian musicians duly nominated for the most sought-after award.
“There are only four artists in Nigeria that have ever been nominated for Grammys. I’m one of them. They are only four! Forget all these people you’re attaching on featuring. When you’re featured, you’re not nominated. It’s not your song.”
“Only four artists! My brother, me, Burna, Sunny Ade.. Finish! No other person in Nigeria. They are not doing it with Nigerian flag,” he said.
