‘Silence Isn’t Golden In Nigeria’ –Iyabo Ojo Hits Back After Suspension

Iyabo Ojo

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has said the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN) can never force her to keep shut after the union blacklisted her.

TAMPPAN accused Iyabo Ojo of disrespecting the association after she allegedly insulted some veteran actors and actresses for not speaking against Baba Ijesha’s molestation of a minor.

The vocal actress on Monday, June 28, 2021, however noted via her official Instagram page that silence is why many girls and boys are being sexually harassed and molested in the country. She added that silence isn’t golden in Nigeria.

“Silence is golden. Is why a lot of our girl or boy child gets abused, molested or raped daily and yet they’re afraid to speak up…. because they’ll be bullied to silence by the same society meant to protect them,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Silence ain’t golden in Nigeria. I can never be silenced, know that & know God period.”
