How Nollywood prevents people from committing suicide – Actress Mary Njoku writes

Hours after president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN, Emeka Rollas, stated that the movie industry is not a dumping site for BBNaija evictees, actress Mary Remmy Njoku has shared a post in which she appeared to disagree with him.

Mary in a post she shared on her Instagram page this evening, said the movie industry is a home for all as it has saved many who were unemployed. According to her, many would have committed suicide if not for the industry.

Read what she wrote below

“She doesn’t care about your past.
She doesn’t care about what the world thinks of you.
She doesn’t discriminate.
She holds you till find your feet in the the society.
ANYONE can make it in Nollywood.
She gives a clean slate to anyone who wants a 2nd, 3rd or 4th chance. She never stops giving.

Majority of us were unemployable in the society when we joined Nollywood. No degree. No certificates.
If not for Nollywood so many people would have committed suicide because of stigmatization and discrimination.
Nollywood is home to ALL.

She is life to anyone who wants to live. Remember that.”
