A Nigerian cleric identified as Prophet Gabriel Evans has expressed his appreciation for Naira Marley, also known as Azeez Fashola, a music sensation.
Although the controversial singer has been photographed smoking cannabis, the pastor of His Majesty Evangelical Ministry claims that some of his songs have profound themes.
The clergyman mentioned the artiste’s song Aye (the Yoruba word for Life), which was released in 2020, during a lecture.
“That boy only smokes weed, he’s in his right senses. Naira Marley, his head is intact”, Evans said.
The cleric then sang the chorus of Aye which has more than 5 million views on YouTube.
“Aye yi o le (Life is not hard), Aye lo m’aye le (The people of the world makes life hard), Ninu aye lo ti di f’aye (Inside life makes it hard for life), Aye yi o le (Life is not hard).
“Eyin le ma sin iya yin (You all will be bury your mother). Or you don’t want to bury your mother?”, Evans asked the congregation.
Naira Marley has a huge influence among the youths who adopt his mode of dressing, dance and slangs.

The ‘Soapy’ crooner was arraigned in 2019 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on an 11-count charge of credit card fraud.
Nuru Buhari Dalhatu and Augustine Anosike, both forensic specialists, were called as witnesses by the EFCC.
The investigators testified in court about Naira Marley’s frequent visits to websites where stolen credit cards were sold to interested criminals.
They also disclosed “shocking evidence” acquired from the defendant’s mobile device.
Naira Marley has pled “not guilty” to all of the accusations brought against him and maintains his innocence.
