“I recorded a verse for it” – Ed Sheeran on remix of Peru with Fireboy DML

Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran

Nigerian musician, Fireboy DML is set to bring a new remix of his hit song titled Peru to the airwave.

The new remix will be featuring Grammy-winning British singer Ed-Sheeran, bringing a whole new dimension of vibe to the already blown song.

Initially, the song Peru by Fireboy DML is already played on almost all radio stations in Nigeria, then the star singer went ahead to do a feature with Buju on the song, giving the song even more depth. With the recent revelation that Fireboy DML is bringing a name as big as Ed Sheeran on the song, we can expect the song to make even more numbers than it already does.

Ed Sheeran made this known during a chat when he was asked how he got to work with Fireboy DML.

“So I got sent this a week ago, to remix it. Someone, a friend of mine, Jamal [Edwards] who runs SBTV sent it to me.

“He said, ‘Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song.’ And I’ve just found it really intriguing. So I recorded a verse for it…and it’s a song that’s blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment and their club scene runs over Christmas.

“So you basically put a song to the club in the middle of December, which would seem a weird thing to do in England. But yeah, so I’ve done the remix for this song, but this is the original and it’s just, it’s an earworm, and it’s addictive, and I’m obsessed with it. I mean, Cherry will tell you, I’ve had this song on repeat constantly in the house for the last week.”

So far, a release date has not been set for the song but we most likely expect the song to drop anytime soon as the plan is to tap into the festive mood to push the song.
