Burna Boy and mum featured on Johnnie Walker’s ‘Keep Walking’ campaign

Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Burna Boy and his mother Bose Ogulu have been featured on Johnnie Walker’s “Keep Walking” pan-African campaign.

A collective of four contemporary artists participated in the campaign, which embodied the spirit of progress, optimism, and possibilities. They include Urban Pitchaz (Kenya), the scene’s youngest DJ, DJ Turkana (Uganda), and Waffles and Cream, Nigeria’s first skating community.

As part of the campaign, a documentary was produced titled “The Ones Who Keep Walking” that highlights the accomplishments of some African creatives.

The campaign’s extension is a short film about the daring creatives who are reshaping Africa on new terms featuring Nigerians such as CKay, Yeni Kuti, Stephen Tayo, Waffles and Cream, Bose Ogulu, and Amarachi Nwosu.

There were reservations about the campaign and one that caught our attention is the one from Ifeoma Agu, Marketing Manager, International Premium Spirits, Guinness Nigeria.

“We are really excited about unleashing the brand character & magnetic personality of Johnnie Walker such that it jumps off the screen and into the culture. With this campaign, Johnnie Walker will be the proximate collaborator in the unbridled expression of self, the refusal to acknowledge labels, and a fierce determination to push boundaries in line with the brand’s purpose.”
