Popular Nigerian singer, Asa has been named Spotify EQUAL Africa Music Programme ambassador of the month.

Following the release of the singer’s latest single ‘Mayana’ which got featured on the cover of Spotify’s EQUAL Africa playlist in December 2021, Asa earned her spot with her talent and ability to pass across a deep message with her lyrics.

Asa will be added to the EQUAL programme’s roster of powerful African women creating waves in music, in keeping with Spotify’s goal of promoting gender equality in the music industry and showcasing significant female singers.

She also expressed her excitement, stating how great it is for her to be a part of the programme and to be celebrated.

It’s beautiful when we are celebrated and recognized for contributions to music and art over the years. In the lead-up to the release of my album ‘V’, this is awesome.”
