Principal photography for season two of the fan-favorite series ‘The Smart Money Woman’ has begun, and the cast and crew are ready to go.

Production is currently underway in Lagos, according to the show’s official social media, with cast members Timini Egbuson and newlywed ‘Blood Sisters’ star Ini Dima-Okojie on site.

While plot details have yet to be revealed, fans anticipate that the second season, directed by Bunmi Ajakaiye, will be based on Arese Ugwu’s follow-up book, ‘The Smart Money Tribe.’

In February, Ugwu announced the show’s renewal with an Instagram picture from the first pre-production meeting with her “female-led team,” which included Director Bunmi Ajakaiye, Lala Akindoju, and Isoken Ogiemwonyi.

Osas Ighodaro, Ebenezer Eno, Lala Akindoju, Timini Egbuson, Seun Ajayi, and Eso Dike are set to return in Season 2, while Tobi Bakre and Eku Edewor are expected to make their debut.

Edewor made a cameo appearance as Banke, a deceitful Lagos socialite, in season one.

Bakre, who recently starred in Loukman Ali and Greoh Studios’ ‘Brotherhood,’ will play Dimeji on the show.

The series follows five young women as they navigate their paths to financial independence, based on Arese Ugwu’s bestseller book of the same name from 2016.

After a successful television run, Season 1 of ‘The Smart Money Woman’ was released on Netflix last year with excellent reviews.
