“It’s all over the news…On a tip-off, the Met police, as usual, calmed down and have been investigating….they probably thought money can cover them as usual in Nigeria…..Nigerians don’t even know half of what your rich adored folks get up to.”

Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also reacted to the couple’s arrest in a Twitter post on Thursday. Obi-Uchendu stated that they are constantly exporting and importing disgrace. He wrote:

“Constantly exporting and importing disgrace. SMH.”

Ekweremadu, 60, and Beatrice, 55, have been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 23.

According to the force, the investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.
