After weeks of speculations, Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has unveiled herself as the Peoples Democratic Party deputy governorship candidate of Lagos State.
The filmmaker took to Instagram on Tuesday to confirm her deputy governorship candidacy which has made her the running mate of the PDP Lagos State governorship candidate, Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor.
She captioned the video; ‘LAGOS for LAGOS! JandorFunke…a clear departure from the norm!’

Funke Akindele on June 29 2022 began to trend as one of the 5 nominated and potential running mates for deputy governor of Lagos state under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Olajide Adediran aka Jandor as the party’s governorship candidate.
On Wednesday, July 6, Twitter user and Political Strategist, Hon. Otaigbe Imadegbelo, heightened the speculations after alleging that Funke Akindele is officially Dr Olajide Adediran’s running mate.
