Submissions for the Academy’s 95th International Feature Film category are open from August 15 until August 31, 2022 and a call for entries has been made public for the 95th Academy Awards ceremony by the Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) for the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

On Monday, August 15, 2022, the committee released a call for entries for the International Feature Film (IFF) category of the Oscars via its official social media accounts.

“As filmmakers around the world prepare their Oscar bait for the 95th Academy Awards, the Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) for the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), has called for submissions from Nigerian filmmakers.

“The selection exercise, which will be undertaken by the NOSC, is expected to present one film as Nigeria’s entry in the International Feature Film (IFF) Award category. The window for film submission, is open from August 15, 2022 to August 31, 2022 on thenosc.org.”

Nearly a year after the committee said there wouldn’t be a film chosen to represent the nation for the 94th Academy Awards, NOSC has issued its most recent call for submissions. The Nigerian submissions did not pass the Academy’s requirement for eligibility, according to Chineze Anyaene, chair of the NOSC.
