‘Love Nwantiti’ Crooner, CKay, Releases First Studio Album, ‘Sad Romance’ (Listen)

CKay premieres debut album

CKay has released his debut album, ‘Sad Romance,’ after becoming a global phenomenon through his record-breaking ‘Love Nwantiti,’ ‘Emiliana,’ ‘Watawi,’ and other notable songs.

CKay, born Chukwuka Ekweani, is one of the top talents using his music expertise to influence Afrobeats worldwide. From his 2017 controversial extended plays (Ep), ‘Who The Fcuk Is CKay’ to ‘CKay The First,’ another EP released in 2019 under Chocolate City, a record label in Nigeria, CKay emerged to be a wonder everyone now recognises.

The evident genius of the 27-year-old in music production and singing paved the way for him. He holds some significant Afrobeats records and has earned multiple music certifications in different countries of the world, including Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.

CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ emerged as the first song to debut at number one after the launch of the Billboard Afrobeats chart and the first African song in history to surpass one billion streams on Spotify, amongst other notable recognitions he has.

Releasing his first album today, September 23, 2022, is the right move now that the world is concentrating on his music and waiting for what his debut effort will sound like.

The ‘Sad Romance’ houses 12 tracks, including a bonus track – ‘Love Nwantiti.’ He collaborated with Ayra Starr, Abidoza, Rosinia, Mary Andrade, Davido, and Focalistic, on some songs.

CKay had earlier said all kinds of emotions, happiness, pain, and depression, that he has experienced during his career inspired this first album, ‘Sad Romance.’

The eccentric singer will embark on a North American tour to promote the new body of work, ‘Sad Romance,’ in different cities in the US and Canada. The tour will kick off on October 1, and end on October 28, 2022.
