Blackface accuses Burna Boy, Asake and Wizkid of Intellectual Theft

Blackface calls out fellow musicians , Wizkid, burna boy and asake of copying his song without acknowledging him


Seasoned singer-songwriter ,Blackface, accuses popular musicians Burna Boy, Asake, and Wizkid of intellectual property theft.

The musician, best known for his famous song “Ghetto Child,” asserted that the group had copied his songs without his consent during his appearance with Naija FM in Lagos.

Blackface claims that in terms of rhythm, beat, and melody flows, Wizkid and Burna Boy’s song “Ginger” is very similar to his single “Twist & Turn.” He observed that only the verses had been changed.

Additionally, Blackface claimed that Asake sampled his song “Ikebe Supa” in “Joha”

Blackface claimed that he is an inspiration to these musicians but they never deemed it fit to give him his credit.

The singer who formerly criticized 2Face Idibia made it clear that while he does not object to young musicians sampling his work, he has a problem with the lack of authorization and appropriate credit.

Young ones dey get inspiration from my music. The first person wey sample my music na Wizkid when he do ‘Baby girl I like the way you whine it.’ When I release these records, dem go find the one wey dem like and dem go turn am to their own,” he said.

Recall that Blackface, had few months ago called out Asake for allegedly stealing his hit song “Joha” from him

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Blackface fumed while stating that Asake stole his hit song “Joha” from him without giving him any form of credit.

In the tweet, Blackface dragged Asake for acting smart while urging him to do what’s right because he won’t take the matter lightly.

Blackface’s rage came after the renowned video director, TG Omori claimed that Asake’s ‘Joha’ video costs about $165k (N115 Million).
