- The Lagos state police command has placed Nigerian punter Killaboi on their wanted list, several months after he openly admitted to the murder of his girlfriend on social media.
- In an official statement issued on Tuesday, Killaboi is under suspicion for the alleged homicide of his girlfriend, which is said to have taken place on July 13, 2023, within the walls of his residence in Oral Estate, Ajah.
The Lagos State Police Command has officially declared Nigerian Betting Enthusiast, Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo, known as Killaboi, a wanted criminal in connection with the tragic death of his 21-year-old girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion.
Augusta, in early months of 2023, had mysteriously vanished for several days until her mother decided to pay a visit to Killaboi’s residence at Oral Estate in the Ikota area of Lagos. This mother’s visit followed previous attempts to mediate between Augusta and her boyfriend regarding an unresolved issue.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls reporting that Killaboi, in a series of tweets posted on July 17, shockingly confessed to “accidentally” stabbing his girlfriend during a heated argument.
In these remorseful posts, he lamented how he had messed up his life at just 26 years old and pledged to surrender himself, seek justice for his late girlfriend, as he couldn’t bear the weight of guilt. He further admitted to fleeing the scene out of fear and has been on the run ever since.
However, in a fresh statement released by the police on Tuesday, October 10, via X (formerly Twitter), Killaboi, 26, is suspected to have murdered his girlfriend on July 13, 2023 in his Oral Estate, Ajah home.
He said he was declared wanted following “the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in”.
The PPRO described the suspect as “approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently.”
