Controversial Anambra-based clergyman, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, has stirred up a new wave of controversy with his recent declaration, vowing to render any pastor who prays for Israel both deaf and mute amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Tensions in the Middle East escalated as Israel clashed with the Gaza Strip a few weeks ago after the Palestinian group, Hamas, launched an attack against Israeli cities.

The conflict has led to international concerns and a surge of prayers from various religious communities around the world.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Prophet Odumeje expressed his strong disapproval of pastors who have been offering prayers for Israel, suggesting that they may not fully comprehend the complexity of the situation.

He further accused these pastors of neglecting to pray for the ongoing challenges within Nigeria, where the country faces numerous domestic issues.

Prophet Odumeje went to the extreme, vowing to impose deafness and muteness upon any pastor who prays for Israel, deeming their prayers a misplaced priority in light of Nigeria’s own problems.

It is important to note that some prominent religious figures, such as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had previously expressed support for Israel.

However, after facing severe backlash, Pastor Adeboye deleted his post.
