‘I can’t leave my wife if she cheats on me’ – Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti challenges societal norms on marriage

Renowned musician Seun Kuti shared his perspective on fidelity within marriage, asserting that he could never leave his wife should she ever cheats on him.

He claims that their marital status is unaffected by infidelity.

His wife, Yetunde, who recently appeared with him on the Valentine edition of TVC’s Your View, stated she would not leave if the singer cheated on her.

Mrs Kuti said, “There is nothing my husband is going to do that would make me leave him. Even if he cheats on me I won’t leave him. I am not going to leave my husband because he cheated on me. Nah, that can’t happen.”

Mr Kuti inferred: “We don’t believe in cheating. What is cheating? Love is not ownership.”

One of the hosts asked Seun Kuti, “Would you leave her [your wife] if she cheats on you,” to which he replied, “No. What has that got to do with anything?”

In another story, Seun Kuti raises alarm over threat to life.

The controversial 40-year-old singer accused some unnamed persons of wanting to “destroy and kill” him for speaking the “truth.”

Speaking in a recent video shared via his Instagram page, Seun Kuti said he has lost count of court cases and police invitations he has received over the years. He said he is fighting many secret “wars” alone.

In his words:

“I will reveal it here today. They want silent me for this country. I can’t tell you how many wars I am fighting alone. I can’t tell you how many cases in court for nothing, how many police invitations left, right and centre for nothing. For just saying the truth, everybody is inviting the police on me.

“Because I am saying the truth, they are trying to destroy and kill me. They are trying to bring me down and destroy my name. It’s not easy. They have been silencing speakers of the truth since 705 BC.”
