Junior Pope: Two boat drivers arrested as Movie Producer, Adanma Luke surrenders to police

Adanma Luke, a notable figure in Nollywood film production, has reportedly turned herself in to the Anambra State Police Command.

Adanma has come under intense  scrutiny as the producer on the movie set where Nollywood actor Junior Pope was prominently shooting before the tragic incident in Anam River, where he, along with four crew members, met an untimely demise.

During a conversation with Linda Ikeji’s blog, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson of the state command, revealed that Adanma voluntarily surrendered to the police on Thursday, April 11, and provided a statement.

Ikenga mentioned that two boat operators linked to the tragic incident have been apprehended and are currently in police custody.

In a bid to reassure the public that transparency will prevail, Ikenga affirmed that no aspect of the incident would be overlooked.

He further stated that additional members of the movie’s cast and crew will be summoned for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Pope, the actor, died on Wednesday after he fell into the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state on his way to a movie location.

The film star was in the company of some other actors and crew members when the incident occurred.

A now-viral video showed shirtless TC Virus ringing a bell as their boat sped on the river.

Recalling his ordeal in an Instagram live session, TC Virus said before he embarked on the boat trip, he performed a ritual to honour the water spirits.

He also alleged that Adanma Luke, the filmmaker, ordered his arrest following a claim by the boat operator that he caused the mishap that led to Pope’s death.

While he escaped the mishap, some persons lost their lives.
