Junior Pope’s family announces burial arrangements

The more we discuss the heartbreaking demise of Junior Pope and four ill-fated crew members, the more agonizing it becomes to accept that their lives were tragically cut short in a boat accident that was as avoidable as a ticking time bomb. The funeral plans for Junior Pope have unleashed a fresh wave of grief, piercing the hearts of movie enthusiasts like a sharp arrow, as they come to terms with the harsh reality that the talented actor and loving father of 3 will soon be called to the great stage of the afterlife, where the Great Director will script his final act.


The family of actor Junior Pope has disclosed his burial arrangements through an obituary released on Friday.

The burial proceedings will commence on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State, as indicated in the actor’s burial poster.

According to the announcement on the poster, signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, another requiem mass is scheduled to take place at Christ the King Catholic Parish in G.R.A, Enugu on May 13.

After the requiem masses, a series of commemorative events have been planned to honor the late actor Junior Pope.

On May 14, an evening of tributes and candlelight will take place at the Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu starting at 5 p.m. Subsequently, on May 16, a wake will be held at his country home in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, situated in the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the state.

The final rites will occur on Friday, May 17, beginning with a burial mass at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe, followed immediately by the interment ceremony at his country home.

Concluding the proceedings, a thanksgiving mass is planned at the same church on May 20 to commemorate and celebrate the life of the beloved 39-year-old actor .

Junior Pope was confirmed dead on April 10 after he drowned in a boat accident that killed four others.

Meanwhile, The national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has said that Junior Pope had already died when his body was brought out of the river.

Emeka Rollas said this in a recent interview with Afia TV in which he dismissed rumours that CPR was not administered to Junior Pope.
