In spite Grammy loss, Davido celebrates Tems’ win

Famous Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke better known as Davido, has congratulated Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems on her latest win.

The songstress won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammys on Sunday, January 2, 2025 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Tems @ 67th Grammy Awards

Tems’ hit song, ‘Love Me Jeje’ emerged victorious over “Tomorrow” (Yemi Alade); “MMS” (Asake & Wizkid); “Sensational” (Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay); and “Higher” (Burna Boy).

“Love Me Jeje”, a sample of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 song of the same title, has received critical acclaim from global music buffs following its release last April.

Tems had received three nominations at this year’s Grammys, bringing her career nomination to a total of eight. Her big win at this year’s Grammys makes it her second Grammy win because in 2023, she won the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her contribution to the hit song, ‘Wait for U’, with Future and Drake.
