Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode, fondly known as Toyo Baby from the hit series Jenifa’s Diary, has taken a bold stand on the rising trend of premarital sex and sexually explicit content among today’s youth, particularly teenagers.
In a heartfelt message shared via Instagram, the 30-year-old actress expressed deep concern over how sexual activity has become normalized, even among very young people.
According to Juliana, many teenagers now speak about sex casually and openly, with little or no regard for its emotional or spiritual implications. She wrote:
“What is your body count? 😳😳 The things I hear these days especially from teenagers makes me speechless/breaks my heart.”
The outspoken actress went on to reject the popular belief that young people should “make all their mistakes” while they’re still young, especially when it comes to sexual matters. Instead, she called for more intentional parenting and values-based upbringing. She declared:
“S£x is spiritual. People only talk about the fun part, nobody really talks about the spiritual aspect of it. S£x and other sexu@l activities is for MARRIED people.”
Juliana Olayode, who is also a published author and advocate for sexual purity, revealed how her upbringing plays a key role in the values she upholds today. She credited her mother’s strong moral guidance for keeping her grounded and helping her steer clear of certain temptations.
“There are certain things I still cannot do now; I keep hearing my mother’s voice in my head. If we are not more intentional about the way we raise our children, we would not be happy about the kind of adults this generation would produce,” she warned, referencing Proverbs 22:6.
In a generation flooded with liberal ideologies, viral challenges, and explicit content, Juliana’s message stands out as a call for restraint, structure, and spirituality. She urged adults to stop cheering on or silently enabling destructive behaviour in young people.
“We cannot just give them a free hand. Sometimes, too much freedom is destructive. There’s so much in my heart to say. If we cannot correct them, let us not support them.”
Juliana’s post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding her stance while others debate whether such moral ideals are still realistic in today’s world.
