“N1m weekly” – Nkechi Blessing reveals why she took a break from acting

Nkechi Blessing Sunday

Nollywood firecracker Nkechi Blessing Sunday has never been one to sugarcoat her truth and her recent bombshell has left fans stunned, curious, and maybe even a little envious.

In a revealing sit-down on the “Curiosity Made Me Ask” podcast, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, the actress opened up about why she quietly stepped back from the movie scene. The controversial actress clarified that it had nothing to do with burnout, scandal, or industry beef.

According to Nkechi Blessing, a mystery benefactor stepped into her life and started sending her a whopping N1 million every week. It was completely unprovoked and without any strings attached. She confessed:

“Someone anonymously put me on a N1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles, that’s why I took a break from acting.”

Nkechi Blessing, known for her larger-than-life personality and bold opinions, said the unexpected blessing came at a time when she was silently struggling financially in Nollywood.

While many fans assumed she was living large, the reality was that after filming and promoting entire movies, she sometimes couldn’t even pocket up to N1 million in profit. She explained:

“You’ll shoot a whole movie, run around, stress yourself, and after everything, you’ve not even made N1 million. So when that money started coming in weekly… I just took a break.”

The actress didn’t reveal any details about who the mysterious “helper” might be. And when Bae U Barbie tried to dig a little deeper, Nkechi quickly shut him down with a spicy clapback:

“It’s not your business,” she snapped with a smirk.

In other news, undeniably ageless actress, Shaffy Bello who has always kept her relationship matters private has let fans in, like never before.

In a new episode of the Dear Ife podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro (DANG), 54-year-old Shaffy Bello got real about love, romance, DMs, and why dating younger men is now a closed chapter in her book.
