Social media has been thrown into a frenzy following observations made by a content creator and music enthusiast known as TheboyfromMojo, who sparked debate among fans after drawing attention to subtle tension between Nigerian music stars Olamide and Davido in separate interviews.
The creator, known for dissecting music culture and celebrity interactions, posted a clip from a recent interview Davido granted during his ongoing 5Alive tour.
In the interview, Davido was asked to mention a song he had featured on that never got released. In response, the Timeless crooner referenced Olamide’s 2014 track Story for the Gods, but interestingly avoided mentioning the YBNL boss by name. Instead, Davido referred to the collaborator as “one rapper” who is “legendary back home.”
Though Davido did not directly criticize Olamide, the omission of his name raised eyebrows, with many fans interpreting it as a subtle shade. The clip immediately generated buzz, as fans speculated on whether the choice to not mention Olamide was intentional or a simple oversight.
Adding fuel to the fire, TheboyfromMojo also shared a separate interview clip of Olamide with Media personality Korty EO, in which the Unruly hitmaker expressed displeasure at being boxed into the “rapper” category. Olamide stated that despite his early rap career, he has evolved into a versatile artist capable of thriving in any genre.

The timing of both interviews led some fans to read between the lines, speculating on whether the two music giants might be harboring quiet tension.
Reactions have since flooded social media, with both fanbases going head-to-head. While Olamide’s supporters defended their favorite’s right to speak on his artistic evolution, Davido’s fans argued that their star had no malicious intent in avoiding the name mention.
Others downplayed the observations entirely, insisting that no real beef exists between the two industry heavyweights.

Neither Davido nor Olamide has publicly addressed the growing buzz. However, with both artists long seen as cornerstones of Afrobeats’ dominance, fans continue to watch closely for any indication of whether there’s more than just smoke behind the social media speculation.
