Sheila Courage, the estranged wife of Davido’s aide, Israel DMW, is back in the headlines, without uttering a single word.
The ex-couple, whose whirlwind romance ended in a messy divorce less than a year after their star-studded wedding, had publicly accused each other of abuse, disrespect, and irreconcilable differences.
Their separation in 2023 was anything but quiet, with Israel airing grievances in lengthy Instagram rants and Sheila countering with claims of controlling behavior. For months, they avoided any form of public interaction.
But over the weekend, Israel DMW proudly unveiled his latest achievement, a sprawling new house in his hometown of Edo State. In an emotional post, he revealed that the seven-month project was a personal dream come true:
“My seven-month village project, soon to be commissioned by God’s grace. One of my prayers is to own two houses in my life, in Edo State. Thank you, God Almighty. Thanks to Oga and Madam.”
While fans and colleagues flooded the comments with congratulatory messages, it was a subtle online move that stole the spotlight. Sheila Courage ‘liked’ a blog post reporting the news. See screenshot below:
The gesture immediately split public opinion. Some saw it as maturity and proof that she still wished her ex well, while others believed it was calculated and opportunistic.
On Instagram, the reactions came fast and unfiltered:
@successful_winner: “She has always wanted him to grow.”
@olami_83: “She does have courage.”
@omoakajegeshin: “Women dey quick associate with success.”
@iamjxtprisca: “All of a sudden she had always wanted the best for him.”
@callme_ade_nike: “They are not enemies, you all should let them breathe, they might marry again.”
Some even accused Sheila of subtly attempting to rekindle public sympathy, while others urged Nigerians to let the past rest.
Sheila and Israel tied the knot in October 2022 in a lavish, Edo-themed wedding that had all the makings of a fairytale. From Sheila’s glittering beaded headpiece to Israel’s traditional regalia, the ceremony was attended by family, friends, and members of the 30BG crew.
Barely months later, cracks began to show. By the end of 2023, their marriage had collapsed under a storm of allegations. Israel accused Sheila of disrespecting him and being influenced by “wayward friends,” while Sheila fired back, alleging controlling behavior and emotional abuse.
By early 2024, the divorce was official, but the tension lingered. For months, they appeared to have no contact.
