{"id":109133,"date":"2022-12-04T20:38:43","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T20:38:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=109133"},"modified":"2022-12-04T20:38:43","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T20:38:43","slug":"maduagwu-knocks-ned-nwoko-for-stating-southern-nigerian-men-contribute-to-prostitution-by-shunning-polygamy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/12\/04\/maduagwu-knocks-ned-nwoko-for-stating-southern-nigerian-men-contribute-to-prostitution-by-shunning-polygamy\/","title":{"rendered":"Maduagwu knocks Ned Nwoko for stating \u2018southern Nigerian men contribute to prostitution by shunning polygamy\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has knocked billionaire and Delta-state politician, Prince Ned Nwoko.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to the actor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/08\/23\/regina-daniels-son-and-mother-rita-touchdown-in-nigeria-after-almost-2months-in-jordan\/\">Rita Daniels<\/a>, the mother of popular actress, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/11\/16\/video-regina-daniels-demands-sincere-apology-from-son-munir-for-causing-home-accident\/\">Regina<\/a> should be blamed for gifting her daughter, to Ned all in the name of marriage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This comes after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/11\/19\/actress-regina-daniels-takes-break-from-campaigning-for-hubby-ned-nwoko-reveals-why\/\">Ned Nwoko<\/a> blamed southern Nigerian men for contributing to prostitution in the society\u00a0by shunning polygamy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to Ned in an interview with <\/span><span class=\"s2\">The Guardian<\/span><span class=\"s1\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMany women are out there on their own without husbands, especially in the southern part of the country, and there is a high level of prostitution. What some of our girls do to make ends meet is regrettable and if our men emulate their northern counterparts by having more than one wife, that could probably change the situation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe average southerner may have only one wife, but many girlfriends also, and he is spending his money on the girlfriends; sometimes even more than on his wife. The man, who has three wives, for instance, concentrates on them and his children; every money he makes is spent on the family and he is more likely not to have any girlfriends or concubines. The money those with several girlfriends spend on them is a gift, not an investment in the family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nwoko, who has multiple wives, added that he and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, are serving Nigeria by marrying many women. He said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMy grandfather and the Ooni\u2019s grandfather and the then Olowo of Owo took many photographs together. So, the Ooni and I have that kind of common background, because our grandfathers were kings and served Nigeria in that capacity. And we are now also serving Nigeria by having many wives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reacting to his opinion, Uche Maduagwu took to social media in a series of posts and wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSeriously? And he want to represent Delta people with this KUNU sense? Na Regina Mama we blame for Dashing you her Pikin\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Using King Solomon in the Bible as a reference, Uche stated that marrying many wives can not stop prostitution.
