{"id":110882,"date":"2022-12-17T17:15:23","date_gmt":"2022-12-17T17:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=110882"},"modified":"2022-12-17T17:15:23","modified_gmt":"2022-12-17T17:15:23","slug":"real-reason-i-left-my-10-year-old-marriage-actress-charity-nnaji-bares-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/12\/17\/real-reason-i-left-my-10-year-old-marriage-actress-charity-nnaji-bares-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Real reason I left my 10 year old marriage \u2013 Actress, Charity Nnaji bares all"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Nigerian actress, Charity Nnaji, has revealed the real reason she was forced to leave her marriage of 10 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Charity who stated that it was due to domestic violence said she can stand being with a man who is financially handicapped but she would never stay with one who engages in domestic abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nnaji stated this in an interview, adding that what she endured in her marriage which crashed four years ago can end someone else\u2019s life if they experience same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Nollywood diva also talked about the lessons she learnt from her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/04\/13\/marriage-crash-actress-yewande-adekoya-slams-jigan-babaoja-for-being-a-bad-influence-on-her-husband\/\">failed marriage<\/a> and applying it to her relationship life. She said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI left my marriage because of domestic violence. I can cope with a man if he has setbacks in his business, but I cannot stay with him if he slaps me. What I survived in that home can kill others. My greatest fear was to live as a single mum, but I had to take a bold step to leave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cEver since I left, a lot has changed in my life. I can now handle any relationship and know how to live with people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Secondly, I now have peace of mind. Money cannot buy peace of mind. Whatever one does in life, one should ensure it does not tamper with one\u2019s peace of mind. I was married for 10 years. I left the marriage four years ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nnaji further revealed she had found love again and was taking her time before making it public. She said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI am in a relationship, and I am just taking my time. I don\u2019t want to bring him to social media for now. I don\u2019t want social media people to ruin my relationship because that is their job. Whatever that is good, some Nigerians will always want to see the negative side of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The last guy I dated was acting funny and I was not comfortable with it.
