A good number of artistes have come out, pointing accusing fingers at their colleagues.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Months ago, there were claims that Victor AD wrote \u2018Jowo\u2019 for Davido. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Clearing the air, the singer denied writing the hit track.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Months after Nigerian singer and songwriter, Victor Adere known by his stage name, Victor AD and colleague, Davido unfollowed each other on social media, the former has spoken up regarding what led to the incident. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There were speculations that Victor AD wrote David Adeleke, aka Davido\u2019s hit song \u2018Jowo.\u2019 The reports which went viral a while back added that Victor AD said Davido stole his hit song \u2018Jowo\u2019 from him during a studio session.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Clearing the air in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos, the Warri-born music star clarified that he did not write the song as widely reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Victor AD further revealed that when the news started making rounds, Davido tackled him via DM, asking to know why he would say such but he denied being behind the rumours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to the \u2018Tire You\u2019 crooner the false reports by blogs almost ruined his relationship with the DMW boss. Victor AD said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cFrom nowhere, someone speculating that Victor AD wrote [Davido\u2019s] \u2018Jowo.\u2019 I\u2019m not social media-savvy. Most times, before I notice happenings on social media, it would be two days after the matter has trended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">My manager actually called my attention to the \u2018Jowo\u2019 controversy on social media but I didn\u2019t take it seriously. Later on, I said let me just check the trend on social media. Then a few hours later, I saw Davido\u2019s message. He was like, \u2018Whatsup na? Wettin dey sup with this whole \u2018Jowo\u2019 thing?\u2019. And I said I didn\u2019t know anything about it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">I told him that based on the love and respect I have for him I can\u2019t do something that will tarnish his image. I\u2019m not even the type of person that will claim what I\u2019m not. Why would I be seeking credit for what I didn\u2019t do?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It was shortly after the incident, Davido and Victor AD stopped following each other on social media, but it is not clear if there is still a rift between them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a similar story, Big Brother Naija reality TV star cum singer, Tope Adenibuyan, better known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/04\/26\/bbnaijas-teddy-a-calls-out-popular-tv-host-over-intellectual-property-theft\/\">Teddy A weeks back called out a famous TV Host over intellectual property theft. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Intellectual property theft is when someone steals an idea, creative expression, or invention from an individual or a company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to the father of two, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/04\/26\/bbnaijas-teddy-a-calls-out-popular-tv-host-over-intellectual-property-theft\/\"><strong>the media personality stole his idea after he pitched it to him.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Intellectual property theft is unfortunately not news in the Nigerian music industry.
