{"id":150494,"date":"2023-11-24T21:08:38","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T21:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=150494"},"modified":"2023-11-24T21:18:41","modified_gmt":"2023-11-24T21:18:41","slug":"oau-campus-agog-as-200-level-student-begins-50-hour-hand-wash-a-thon-to-set-new-guinness-world-record-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/11\/24\/oau-campus-agog-as-200-level-student-begins-50-hour-hand-wash-a-thon-to-set-new-guinness-world-record-video\/","title":{"rendered":"OAU campus agog as 200-level student begins 50-hour hand wash-a-thon to set new Guinness world record &#8211; VIDEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Under the Friday sun, Subair Enitan, an OAU student, embarked on a 50-hour hand wash-a-thon with aspirations to carve her name into the annals of the Guinness World Records.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>In viral videos, the student community gathered in droves, offering a tidal wave of support for her audacious endeavor.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Having formally informed Guinness World Record of her ambitious plans back in June, Enitan seized the designated date of November 24th, 2023, to roll up her sleeves and take a shot at history.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Subair Enitan, a 200-level student at the Obafemi Awolowo Un iversity (OAU), has plunged into a marathon of cleanliness\u2014a 50-hour hand wash-a-thon\u2014with the aim of etching her name into the illustrious pages of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/11\/18\/ogbomosho-agog-as-nigerian-chef-tope-maggie-surpasses-alan-fishers-guinness-record-video\/\">Guinness World Records (GWR).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The student, who is in the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, began the attempt on Friday, November 24, at the Sub Car Park, inside the school campus.<\/p>\n<p>Online videos surfaced, capturing the spirited cheers of both students and staff from the institution, rallying behind Enitan as she surpassed the six-hour mark in her attempt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SEE VIDEO BELOW<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1080px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-150494-1\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1920\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/11\/instagram_video_1700857754193.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/11\/instagram_video_1700857754193.mp4\">https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/11\/instagram_video_1700857754193.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>Commencing her task in the afternoon, Enitan conveyed a sense of optimism, foreseeing a resilient finish that would proclaim her the title holder of the longest hand-washing marathon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cMy background, the lessons life taught me have been motivating me to embark on this wash-a-thon. My experience is unexplainable but it taught me to be selfless<\/strong>,\u201d she had said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI am confident that I will reach the set goal of 50 hours of hand wash and by God\u2019s grace I will emerge victorious.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cDespite the massive support from my colleagues here, I pray for the grace of God to be able to complete the task. My parents are very supportive and I urge Nigerians to rally round me while I work towards completing the task.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is believed that the student notified the prestigious British reference book of her intentions in June this year.<\/p>\n<p>She was also said to have been given November 24, to embark on her attempt.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Union President, Abbas Akinremi-Ojo disclosed that needed supports including ambulance, lighting, water among other logistics have been put in place to ensure she win the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>The management of OAU through the Dean, Students Affairs, Professor John Odedire said the school is ready to give all it takes to ensure she clinches the record.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Under the Friday sun, Subair Enitan, an OAU student, embarked on a 50-hour hand wash-a-thon with aspirations to carve her name into the annals of the Guinness World Records.
