{"id":153262,"date":"2023-12-15T11:42:55","date_gmt":"2023-12-15T11:42:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=153262"},"modified":"2023-12-15T11:42:55","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T11:42:55","slug":"i-died-for-10-minutes-my-lungs-had-collapsed-toyin-lawani-recounts-dreadful-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/12\/15\/i-died-for-10-minutes-my-lungs-had-collapsed-toyin-lawani-recounts-dreadful-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"I died for 10 minutes, my lungs had collapsed \u2013 Toyin Lawani recounts dreadful experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Toyin Lawani has opened up on her battle with an illness that has seen her undergo three surgeries, with two more to go.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">The celebrity stylist addressed her critics who claimed she was chasing clout with many of her revelations. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Toyin Lawani added that she has gone through a lot and died for about ten minutes before she was resuscitated.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Celebrity fashion stylist cum reality TV star, Toyin Lawani has revealed that she was dead for 10 minutes after her lungs collapsed during surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/12\/01\/i-have-tried-to-hold-my-peace-but-iyabo-ojo-slams-rholagos-producers\/\">The <em>Real Housewives of Lagos<\/em> star<\/a> revealed this in an Instagram post on Friday, December 15, where she also disclosed that she was battling with a brain-related illness and needed surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Toyin said she was battling with a \u201cdegenerative spine and a cyst in my brain\u201d and she had to undergo multiple surgeries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The mother of three posted a video chronicling her medical journey up to the point when she had the surgery and the pains she went through before and after the procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/06\/12\/are-you-not-tired-toyin-lawani-to-critics-of-her-husbands-unhappy-look-on-wedding-anniversary\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Toyin Lawani who celebrated her wedding anniversary months ago wrote:<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI legitimately died for a whole 10mins. While I was pregnant for (sic) My daughter @kingtinukeleota, I started having serious, Neck\/back\/leg pains. And it got to a time I would get paralysed on the left side of my body and wouldn\u2019t be able to move at all, I was on painkiller injections all through, Even while shooting, it was hell doing those diaries sessions. I was later diagnosed with a Degenerative spine and a cyst in my Brain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The 41-year-old who is also known as Tiannah added:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cGuys I died for a whole 10 minutes before they were able to bring me back, My lungs collapsed. I developed edema and from fixing artificial implants in my spine to be able to walk properly again, went to developing complications that got me on a tracheostomy tube for 3 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI have had 3 surgeries so far and two more to go so I can breathe well by myself and speak well again, So when you hear me speak and make fun of it know I\u2019m a survivor and I went through a lot, I forgive your negative speeches though, But it is only a reflection of what you are being sold. To the extent that they will be tweeting Tiannah lies about everything, from pregnancy to having neck pains.
